Slow Food Solent Committee
Leader & Events: Hannah Godfrey
"I am a life long lover of good food and a recent graduate of the Ballymaloe Cookery School. I was lucky enough to grow up in a household where delicious healthy freshly prepared food was at the heart of family life thanks to my amazing Mum; a dietician and a thrifty and inventive marvellous home cook. I'm really keen now to spread the simple and inspiring messages of the Slow Food movement. Food should be enjoyable and enjoyed in good company. It should be nutritious, not harmful. It should be produced sustainably and as part of a system that respects producers and consumers alike. Slow Food can and should be accessible to everyone, no matter what their budget or background. We (the new committee) think the key is understanding how to source good and fresh food local to you, and how to prepare healthy home cooked meals and we are really looking forward to contributing to the development of both these areas in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight".
